A man was tragically struck and severely injured on Friday when a driver slammed into him in Pasco, Washington.
Marcelino Arroyo, a cyclist traveling in Pasco, was badly hurt when he was hit by a motorist on Friday in Pasco. Law enforcement there claimed that at approximately 9 p.m. local time, Mr. Arroyo was hit by 25-year-old Rebecca McCarter as he was attempting to cross an intersection at West Court Street and North 16th Avenue in Pasco. The accident occurred when the motorist did not yield to the victim, law enforcement added.

Paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident and rushed the victim to a local hospital where he is receiving care for severe injuries, law enforcement said.

The Pasco city Police Department is digging deeper into the details of the crash to attempt to determine what led McCarter to hit and hurt Mr. Arroyo. While we await the results of the probe, the driver may well be cited.
