CBS Los Angeles reports that a pedestrian was struck by two vehicles on Main Street near 71st Street at 1:20 a.m. on Monday. A two-door sedan struck the man, hurling his body into the opposite side of the street. The driver fled the scene.

Two passersby stopped to help the injured pedestrian. The first, a woman, was seen speaking with the man before leaving the scene.

The second person was a Spanish-speaking driver of a Toyota Prius that may have been a taxi. As the Prius’s driver was attempting to talk to the victim, a dark sedan heading north ran the pedestrian over, dragging him 60 feet before he became dislodged from the undercarriage. The Prius driver then left the scene also.

Authorities reported the pedestrian dead on the scene. The victim’s name has not been released. Police are searching for the two drivers who stopped to help, and they urge anyone with information to contact detectives.
