A San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy initially attempted to pull over the suspect for unspecified vehicle code violations near the intersection of Iroquois and Bear Valley Road, but the suspect fled, leading to a short chase.

The suspect ran a stop sign at Iroquois and Yucca Loma and struck an SUV, which caused his vehicle to flip several times. Emergency responders extricated the man from his overturned vehicle, and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The woman driving SUV was airlifted to ArrowHead Regional Medical Center as a precaution.

Ongoing investigations are being conducted by San Bernardino County Sheriff. More information will be released as this investigation progresses.
