EL CAJON, CA – The Times of San Diego report that a bicyclist suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in El Cajon on Wednesday night.
According to El Cajon police, the collision occurred around 7 p.m.

Lt. Darrin Forster said the man was traveling in the bike lane on South First Street, when he was hit by a sedan attempting to turn into a driveway near Lexington Avenue.
Forster stated the victim suffered severe head trauma and potentially a broken femur. He was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment.
It was not immediately clear if the victim was wearing a helmet when the accident occurred.
The driver stayed at the scene and investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role.
